What I learned this weekend

After an exhausting 16 hour car ride to and from Kansas City, for the second time in a week, and after one large family reunion (last weekend) and a wedding for my husband's high school buddy (this weekend), and discovering that both Andrew and I have the propensity to "discover" new facets of our personalities and quirks of our relationship in high stressful situations I've come to these conclusions about myself (with kind affirmation from Andrew):

1) I'm a driving snob. In a bad sort of way. I will forever be a backseat/passenger seat driver. And I blame it all on my father, who on the first day of "prep-driving school" in an empty middle school parking lot said: I know you're upset, but you will be the PERFECT driver if I have anything to do with it. And you know, it's probably not everyone's definition of a "perfect driver" but... well, I'm handicapped in such a way I can't keep my trap shut when I feel like someone's driving poorly.

2) I love people. I love meeting new people. I love people of all ages. But I believe I have social claustrophobia. Meaning: for some strange reason after a period of time I feel this strange sort of anxiety building in my chest and the next thing you know I'm bolting for the door with any available excuse I can think of. This is a new "discovery" that drives my husband nuts because he thinks he's done something wrong every time I bolt! Which is not the case, I just need to get out!

3. My body can not handle Arby's three days in a row.

So, there's a little list of what I've learned over the weekend(s)! Anyone else learn anything about themselves this weekend?

Lovely photos, and sounds like you had a busy weekend! Arby's three times in a row would be difficult. At least you found out some great new things about yourself!

Thank you for the morning chuckle! The white photos are very soothing. It sounds like you have had an amusing couple of weekends. I can't wait to hear more about them!

I don't think Arby's three times in one day would agree with anyone!

Karen and I learn fun things like that about ourselves whenever we travel to Chicago. For example I wont let Karen drive even once if its my car we take but if its her car I let her drive the half that requires driving in the city! She is convinced I think she is a bad driver... lol

Beautiful pics! I didn't learn anything as introspective as you this weekend, just more of what I already know (mainly I wish Monday mornings didn't roll around so quickly!).

Haha!

1. I'm right there with you on this one except add to it that I have a terrible sense of direction! But I can follow a map with my eyes closed!!

2. Oh man, we're kindred spirits. I'm the one you see off in the background taking a walk by herself to get psyched back up for more social time.

3. Amen sister :)

Hilarious, I can relate to you and your "back seat" driving tendencies. We just came back from a 15 hr. drive (one way) to WA, and I insisted on driving. Oh, & I love the glass bottles/vases with flowers in them. My husband knows not to buy me a huge bouquet (sp)anymore, I have much simpler tastes.

My body can't even handle the thought of Arby's. Let alone the indigestion!

Those photos are amazing. And Arby's more than once a year is too much for anyone.

This weekend I learned that beer and eggs benedict go well together (at the Irish pub that now serves brunch).
