Curtains, marvelous things

I spent a good two hours hanging pictures and curtains last night in our apartment. I was shocked at how much that helped the look and feel of the place. No more blank, lonely wall space. You walk into our living and it looks like an inviting place to be, versus a holding cell. Last week I asked Andrew if he's liked to have so-and-so over for dinner. He just looked at me and basically said "are you crazy, do you want to give yourself a panic attack trying to get ourselves 'moved-in' before they come?" Grim. Well, now it's looking more hopeful! I'm on my way!

This image was something I saw over at Black*Eiffel a few days ago and fell in love with all of it's cozy nooks and crannies filled with little girl charm. It was from Martha Stewart children's section!

That's so true! I just really got into decorating my home and am amazed at how simple it is to make a space look and feel "inviting" just by doing little simple things like that. My new thing is I always have fresh flowers throughout my house...even in the bathroom!

Love that picture! :)

We've been in our house for 2.5 years and I'm still making it a home!! Every time we have people over I think "ohh, that wall is blank, I should get something to put there before they come over" I don't think I will ever be satisfied with the look :)

Love the fresh flower idea- I do that too!

Fresh flowers! What a great idea! I don't do that nearly enough :) I have house plants, some I've named even, but the smell of fresh freesia, or the look of tulips, *sighs* hard to beat!

Every time I see this image I fall in love with it all over again...so charming and oh how I wish that my daughter's armoire was that organized. :)

Congrats on the wall hangings and window coverings...a pain, but they do make such a difference.

That cabinet is to die for... curtains really do make a huge difference. I really want to add some more curtains and change some of my old ones. They are such a quick project too.

Bare walls make me feel like I'm in an insane asylum. Especially if they're white. So I'm with you on hanging art. Viva la difference!
