Inside and Outside

Spring is swiftly becoming my favorite time of year.  Right now.  This week!  The cherry blossoms are falling like pink snow.  Lily of the Valley is peeking through their thick, green, cape-like leaves.  Ferns are still in fiddlehead form--tightly curled, full of pent-up excitement.  And lilacs are filling the air with a scent that reminds me of Mackinac.

We are getting outside every morning we can.  There's usually a bit of a fight getting us out the door, per usual, but once we're out--the apartment door shut behind us--we all breath a sigh of relief.  Madeleine is becoming more vocal.  About everything.  So, when her brother gets out to walk around, she inevitably starts complaining about still being in the stroller (or "carriages", as they call them here).  William is repeating everything I say.  It's kinda fun hearing him talk about the "hooge daffodil" or the "geen froggy."  There's also usually a bit of dialog going on under his breath.  He'll pick up a stick, raise it to the sky, and dramatically exclaim "SWORD!"  That's cue for me to find a stick, any stick, and defend myself and my little derriere.  Boys.

Inside the apartment, I'm in the process of trying to figure out what to do with my new Japanese paper and the pile of washed fabric I bought in New York.  I have no idea.  Or, rather, I have too many!

Wishing you sunshine, where ever you are!

These pictures are wonderful, Julia. I love your opening shot, the petals on the low stone wall. I can't wait to see what you do with the paper and fabric.
