Walks and Tea

We took long walks through the neighborhood this weekend, the babes and I.  The sunshine was therapeutic.  Better than Zoloft!  The birds were chirping and singing their love songs as we walked along.  William is getting into that phase of life where he needs to wear Batman or Superman every day.  He wore his bright red Superman cape on every walk this weekend.  It's the best ice-breaker ever.  Everyone knows Superman.  And, when you have a mini-super hero walking the town, you feel obliged to pay homage.

We also made it to Teavana on Saturday.  For those who don't know, Teavana is a tea shop chain that specializes in loose leaf tea. And everything else that goes along with tea--tea pots, strainers, burners, containers.  It's very posh.  I splurged.  I bought Amandine Rose, Golden Monkey (like English Breakfast), Strawberry Champagne Oolong, and Earl Grey Cream.  Loose leaf tea makes the whole process of a cuppa a bit more of an ordeal.  But, when it becomes more than a two-step process, you're forced to slow down and pay attention.  Measuring out the tea, boiling the water, making sure you don't steep it for too long.  And, interestingly enough, when it becomes a little more involved, you some how appreciate it more.  Or maybe that's just me.  I'm drinking my Golden Monkey tea this morning.  With honey.  And milk.  And savoring the quiet before the rush of the day!

Yum. Strawberry champagne oolong, does it really taste like that? I'm drinking Tazo's "Calm Chamomile." Your tea sounds much better.
