Layers

We are remarkably layered individuals. What you see on the surface is usually just one of many layers. It's fascinating--just think about the different kinds of friends you have, each one connecting with you in a special way. We have skills, talents, and gifts that are completely unique to us. I was struck this morning with a immense desire to divide this blog post up into Red Otter, Mama, Adventurer categories. Each one filled to the brim with the workings of that layer. I think it's easy to define ourselves solely by what we do--professionally or not. I'm a mother. I'm a student. I'm a designer/teacher/writer/architect. Not really understanding the power and the magnitude of all the other layers we're made up of. Thank God! Thank God I'm more than just one of these layers.

Sending you love this morning,
Jewels

LOVE this post! It's so true. We always wear so many hats and I think this is what I love most about being human and living in the free world - I don't have to decide who I am - I can be many people at once!! Happy Monday!

A perfect timing for this wonderful post. Layering is good. Even in my friendships are many layers. One of my friends once said I have a colorful ray of friendships from 9 to 99. xo
