I'm an alarm clock Nazi. Or at least I think that's what Andrew is thinking when he comes into the office, wearing his Batman t-shirt, rubbing his head, glaring at me because he slept in for an extra hour. The alarm is supposed to go off at 7. But, I'm usually up before then and I don't like the sound of it going off for long, so I usually dash in and hit the off button before he has time to roll over and wonder what the noise is. And, quite ashamedly, there's something about that morning time, all to yourself. Maybe I wanted an extra hour of it. Yes, I'm a bad person! A proper alarm clock Nazi!

Our kid is now 5, so he tends to sleep until 6:30-7am, which is a vast improvement from the 4:30-5am calls of years past (there is just something slightly cruel about having to be up before it's light out). Anyway. My husband recently suggested that we start setting the alarm clock so that he could walk the dog early in the morning. I looked at him like he was deranged. Needless to say, we are NOT doing that. This is all to say, I understand.

I can't stand an alarm clock either... but I would love that fig tart. Have a lovely weekend Jewels.
oh, I know what you're talking about. my alarm clock is supposed to go ring at 6... but I generally put it off before... wish I could sleep a little more!
have a wonderful weekend, darling! xo

I don't really have anything besides my alarm clock that will get me up as early as I like to be up. With my mostly evenings at work schedule, my body wants to steal the morning for itself. However, my boyfriend sleeps in very late. And it takes him absolutely forever to get up. Which means about 500 snoozes! I can't stand it. So, I usually have to wake him up myself. The things we do for a little peace and quiet....
P.S. Having a bf who sleeps in late, I completely agree about the quiet morning time to myself. I savor it.
Haha!! Julia, you crack me up!! I did the same today. What's wrong with a little email/quiet/tea time?? :)
The sound of an alarm clock has got to be one of the most grating sounds ever. I get up hours before the guy does too, and I cherish the quiet time :)
Those earrings are gorgeous! I've been wanting a pair like that for a really long time.
that brooch would look amazing on my fall jacket (as soon as i get a fall jacket:)
have a great weekend!
Funny little story... ALthough I'm no morning person, I do love that solitude first thing in the am. I love that brooch... Neat shop too. Have a great weekend!
That is funny...love the batman T-shirt reference. I ashamedly, set my alarm clock an hour earlier then I need to get up, go to the restroom, climb back into bed, set it for another hour and then hit it about 5 more times before i have to get up...how annoying is that? Hope you have a good weekend Julia, those figs are intriguing, I have never had a fig.
ditto! totally a get-up-by-my-own-inner-alarm-clock girl ... before everyone else ... just so i can enjoy seeing the sun coming up ~ just like your country dreaming image ... the best part of the day!
have a great one,
prairiegirl
beautiful picks... andrew probably secretly liked the extra sleep...thanks for the front page alert today.
OOXX.
=). Me, I turn the alarm off, then go back to sleep. Hehe.
Love the 2nd photo. Roads get to me. =)
each time i visit here, i always feel like life needs an alarm clock to give one time to steal away. an extra hour or elegant sleep sounds to sinfully delightful.
enjoy your weekend.
