Friday Favorites

one: Gray Eclipse Big Town Bag by the wren
two: Bulut from designbynihan
three: Landscape 269 by cwysart
four: Bitter Chocolate and Blue Felt bangle from exclamationpoint

Stepping back to see the big picture is hard to do. Especially when there's so much going on that snaps you back to the demanding details of the here and now. But, every once in a while, you get those "big picture" moments. I have a tendency to feel emotions intensely. I also use Universals a lot, like all the time, always! Thus, I freak out when I'm having a particularly rough moment because I think it's always been that way and will always be that way. I forget to take a step back and see that these intense moments come. And then they go. And normalcy resumes. For me I feel instantly comforted when I realize that the rough moments aren't a constant state of being. I feel capable of handling so much more if I know that the quiet moments and days will come again.

I feel so energized at the start of a post like this, but when I finish my thought I think "Oh geez, Julia, way to go and state the obvious!" Well, maybe it's super obvious, but golly, I needed to hear it this week *grins*

Sending you heaps of love and delight this weekend!

Funny you say this Jewels...because i have been feeling this way for some time now...no particular reason, just life in general. You are right, stepping back is not easy, but something we should all do, we owe it to our sweet selves. Have a super happy weekend friend!

there's a song that i love listening to (ok, i know i have a tendency to refer to songs) by india.arie called 'this too shall pass'.

you should download it cause it's awesome. i love to listen to it in my car - super loud - when i'm feeling overwhelmed.

i totally, completely, thoroughly, understand this feeling - those intense moments that define everything can be overwhelming. they're not always easy to live through, but i think they're fascinating to look back on after the universal illumination has passed.

Love the bag! Also, am hoping to get a picture of me just like that number #2 this coming summer (it's March and April here). =)

These past few days have been 'details' for me. I'm still hoping to see the 'big picture'. ;)

Sometimes we need to step back, and sometimes we need to be told that we need to step back. Lovely post Julia!

I think this post is great. I tend to feel the same way...then feel a little crazy...and wonder if I'm a spaz and the only one? I'm glad I'm not! But, I agree...it's good to take a moment and step back - need to do that more!

You're so adorable. You're not stating the obvious at all...but rather articulating what I often feel, but don't always find the words to express. A perfect post!
