School

I wanted to say thank you to all of you who commented on my Friday post! Andrew read it and said something "Oh! You did a real post!" Meaning, I wrote something from the heart, something "real." It made me smile. You all contributed to the post, adding your wisdom, your thoughts, your input! Happiness is tricky. It's more than just a magnet on your fridge or a sentiment in a card. You added to my happiness, affirming my thoughts on the subject!

Today is the first day of school for the kiddos here in Madison. I used to love the beginning of school each year. I loved the feeling of a fresh notebook and newly sharpened pencils (still do, actually). I loved the way my new school clothes felt, stiff and fresh! Of course, during college, this would be a week of intense syllabi-overload, complete with cold sweats and shaking :) But, I loved that too, in a weird way. I was always more productive at the beginning of the school year, invigorated by the amount of stuff to do. In memory of the delights of school starting, here are a number of my favorite school supplies from Broadway Paper!

Most days I don't miss school... but I don't mind watching other people go to school :)

Oh, and I just caught Fridays post. It's wonderful :)

a post like you had on friday helps us to assess how we're feeling, too. so, thank you.

to me, the best part about starting school was the new school supplies. i still tend to buy some at this time of year even though i'm no currently in school. and, now a days, there's so much "glamor" thanks to companies like russell + hazel.

Yes, I just got the little one off to her first day of school *sniff sniff*. So traumatic for the moms, the kids, on the other hand, are fine. ;)

I was and still am a school supply nut. Thanks for the intro to Broadway paper...salivating over here. Have a great week.

sounds like you had a busy day yesterday, I was at work, it wasn't a holiday here. The new school year for me has been about new shoes and cute little white socks!

Oh my goodness, what a cool site, thanks so much for blogging about it. I also had and still have those same feelings about school supplies. I always buy a new notebook or spiral journal when out shopping for my daughters.

i looooove this time of year...and specifically for the paper products. how delightful! i must admit i'm glad i'm done with university days...but this "month" always seems to sucker me back in to thinking about more. hmm. {don't have kids yet...so guess i just think about me. selfish as that may seem. one day. one day.}

I feel the same way. Sometimes I think I'm more excited for school opening than my 7-yr-old son. From shopping school supplies to covering the books and notebooks. Hmmm...my son doesn't really care (I think!) but I love all of it.

I really like those task clips. There's something about binder clips ... ingenious little things, aren't they?

Hope you're having a great week, Jewels.

Nice school supplies! ;) I too love the beginning of school, but I can't wait to be married to my boy, and start a fall season together with him! He always jokes that he misses my cute fall outfits. So sad. :P

Oh! There's a chance he'll do grad school in Michigan! Any advice/thoughts? I don't know much at all!

I miss school a little, myself. I loved getting graded. Isn't that crazy? Your selection of school supplies is wonderful, btw. Makes me miss being a student today, especially!

i'm geekin' out right along with you, jewels!

i couldn't resist, and bought some new pens and markers today... to add to the new notebook that i bought two weeks ago.

consider me ready for anything.
