Friday Favorites

one: Sprinkles by HeyZee
two: Pink rhinestone cat eye glasses from Vintage50sEyewear
three: Birdcage Art Print by LovelyPiecesDesign
four: Valentine from fiberstory

Thank you for all the excitement about our new news! I'm already scheming, trying to figure out what colors to look for, themes to consider--any thoughts or ideas? Granted we don't have the room for much exploration on the decor, but, I'll make due, I'm sure of it!

Our weekend appears rather sedate--no major tests to study for or traveling about the countryside. Maybe I'll finally be able to take a quick photo of the granny square I've been working on. I decided to skip the idea of multiple little ones and just keep at one giant one. My giant granny square... hmmm.

I wish you all a wonderful, hopefully sunshine-filled weekend!

Heaps of love,

So, so excited!

We're having a BOY! Our little William is doing marvelous, touching his toes, wiggling around and being terribly uncooperative. And, the doctor says he has really long fingers--like Andrew!

So, so excited!

Hurray!

Friday Favorites

one: circle of friends necklace by bluemoss
two: grey mohair beret from HelloVictory
three: Felted cupcake in vanilla mint from madeinlowell
four: february by LeslieThomson

Knowing full well the reservation hassling that would be involved in going to a nice spot for a bit of supper this past weekend, Andrew made reservations for us last night--our late Valentine's night out. I still have visions of a winter sunset over Lake Monona, my Steak Frites with spicy mustard, and a delicious slice of pear almond tart with blackberries. What a treat!

Have you ever seen the old A&E version of Pride and Prejudice? There's a moment when Mr. Darcy is looking at Elizabeth, in his home at Pemberly, their eyes meet and there's nothing but keen adoration and delight in his gaze. That's the coveted "look." I won't gush, but dessert paled in comparison to Andrew's look last night.

Okay, I gushed.

21 weeks

Quick baby Otter update! My little one is sailing around, doing flips, and regularly thumping me in excitement--usually when I sit down, go to sleep or when the car stops. This movement has helped, greatly--I'm not just a huge belly who can't see her toes, I'm a momma with a baby growing who can't see her toes. I'm slowly progressing out of the "perpetually green around the edges" phase, though by the time it hits 7PM I'm thinking bed sounds like the most delicious thing in the world. We find out if it's a girl or boy next week Wednesday--I'll keep you posted!

PS I finished my first crochet lesson and I'm now hooking together yummy Granny Squares--I'll try and take pictures soon. Hurray!

2: Lots of dots coffee/teapot by Ninainvorm
3: Green Earth earrings from WildWomanJewelry
4: Petite doily whatnot dish by dottieangel

I realize that my Friday Favorites do not reflect the upcoming holiday, per se, but I thought we could all use something bright and cheery this Friday morning, especially as half of us are still under drifts of snow! My little wiggle worm is twirling and doing somersaults for you, I can feel it--it's his/her way of sharin' the love!

XOXO,

Breakfast

It's been all about food lately, breakfast in particular. One of my favorite morning rituals is taking down one of my colorful latte bowls, cutting up berries, scooping on lemon yogurt and sprinkling it all with Kashi crunchy cereal. Not only does it taste divine, it's pretty too!

Friday Favorites

one: Rose Buds handspun yarn from yarmee
two: Hollow owl charm necklace from AptNo5
three: Vanilla Sky by tuscanystudios
four: Green Tea shortbread from Sweetcrescendos

Here I sit, finishing up my toasted PB&J sandwich, listening to the Little Women soundtrack and counting the simple treasures in my pocket. Crochet lessons from the Knitting Tree here in Madison, walks through old neighborhoods, finishing up my anatomy homework and realizing that I actually get the cardiac cycles--you know, simple treasures. Thank you Debra for all the fabulous links on crocheting, I can't tell you how inspired I feel. Let's just hope I can get some of these basic stitches down after my lessons. Then onto granny squares.

I wish you all a peaceful weekend, full of your own simple treasures!

XOXO,
Jewels

Held accountable

Hello, hello! I'm back! This morning's agenda involves a breakfast with berries and yogurt, some anatomy diagrams, class, and then off to the craft store. I'm on the hunt for a crochet hook, some yummy yarn and a how-to book. Maybe if I write it here I'll be held accountable--I'm determined to learn how to crochet a beanie (baby hat) before this little one comes along. If anyone has any good ideas about where to start, please, pass along the advice, I'm all ears!
