Friday Favorites

one: paper moth from papermoth
two: oh for spring again by buckscountyframes
three: sea urchin collection from staroftheeast
four: summer linen scarf by LinenMe

It's Friday! We made it! My week of clinical went extremely well. I finished my shift yesterday and felt a surge of satisfaction--so much accomplished, so many new friends made and skills learned. I know I'm only a week in, but I can't help but feel that, yes, this is what I want to do. It's an incredible feeling. The whole getting up at 5 in the morning is a bit stinky, but I only have another few days of that and then I'm done.

I wasn't able to keep up with everyones blog this week, but what I did see thrilled me :) Just a few things that have stuck with me:

Rachel's flowered belt over at 100 Layer Cake
Lizzy's words of the day
Design Lovely's lovelies
Fabulous new artwork from Thereza
And one of the most delicious Monday's with Court

Thank you all for hanging in there with me! I promise to be a better blogger soon :) Very soon! Have a wonderful, deliciously splendid weekend. I'm off to go mail packages and get ready for my little niece's arrival.

XOXO,
Jewels

Speaks "summer"

I have to admit, it feels strange to be posting late at night instead of early in the morning, but I really wanted to share these images with you! They speak of peach sunsets, sparkling Bellini's and the sound of Walloon Lake at dusk, when the world quiets and time slows. Tell me, what's one thing that speaks "summer" to you?

Yummy desserts

My clinical has started at the assisted living center here in town. I have roughly a week and a half of the early morning shift (6:30-12:30) before my final and all my summer course work will be complete. It's so exciting to be able to start using the skills we've been trained in over the summer. Of course it's a little scary too. There's nothing more terrifying than having to figure out how to transfer an person who is weak, tired, and almost incapable of helping you from the bed to the wheel chair. In any case, I'll probably be a little quiet over here! Enjoy the yummy desserts, though!

XOXO,
Jewels

Interview and curiosity

First off, I was notified this morning that my interview and give-away is over at the Sofia Barao's! Do go and see!

Two summers ago I stumbled into the world of blogging. Well, it was sort of a slow "easing into," but I found a small handful of blogs that I thought were not only beautiful but sincere and I've gone back to them time and time again. For not only inspiration creatively and for genuine living. "Genuine living" sounds a bit pretentious, but I hope you know what I'm talking about. I'm drawn to their photographs (which they usually take themselves), their simple but creative living, and their attachment to their families, no matter the size. I'm just curious, which blogs have continued to inspire you, time and time again?

D is for doughnut

Last Sunday morning Andrew and I walked down to his favorite coffee shop in La Crosse. Mr. D's. The D, I found out, is for doughnut. And people, these doughnuts are what dreams are made of. Old fashioned, crispy on the outside, beautifully glazed, and warm and creamy on the inside. My mouth is watering just thinking about them! Anyone want to meet me over there? Like right now? Don't think about the drive. Just think about the most delicious thing you've ever eaten and you'll go running for your keys.

Friday Favorites

1: Dandelions Summer Wristlet from EightSeasons
2: Into the wind from Ivoryandnoir
3: Trocadero caramel from parispastrylab
4: Silk Lilac Lady necklace from fleurfatale

I very nearly skipped my way out of my math final this week. Bye bye polynomials and quadriatic formulas and hours of sitting in windowless labs trying to comprehend 13 weeks of algebra in 6. It's done. And I'm still alive! I'm sorry for the long absence, I can't tell you how much I missed you guys.

Now, onto summer! I'm heading to La Crosse this weekend to see Andrew, where I hope to enjoy a number of new coffee shops, a Harry Potter movie, and a very good bottle of wine. What about you, what's on the weekend itinerary?
