A Night In

Andrew and I put on the second season of West Wing last night and settled into an evening of reading, creating, and being inspired (West Wing) as we were told not to be out and about in the blizzard-like weather. Not one to complain about being told to stay indoors on a wintery evening, I decided to make the most of my night in and create a new journal. My order from Paper Source arrived yesterday afternoon, before the storm hit, so I was itching to break out the book making supplies. So, with my new paper, scissors and glue spread out all across the living room floor I set to work! This journal is now in my shop! Hurray!

Tangerines in Winter

It's snowing! We've had such bitterly cold weather here, the kind of temperatures that make walking to the car painful, that I'm really excited about the snow. I forgot that it needed to warm up for it to snow.

I think in an attempt to sooth the winter blues, I put together the most vibrant journal yet. My Tangerine Book!

My Treasury!

Just wanted to share a treasury I snagged this morning (note these treasuries expire after three days). The faded boxes on the far right are my alternates! I'll shuffle those into my main treasury soon!

I'm trying to get back on track with Red Otter things this week. I feel like I'm still coasting after the holidays. I'll hopefully post a few more journals this weekend!

On my holiday

Andrew and I have just returned from a weekend away in Door County, Wisconsin! It was pretty evident that we were in dire need of a short holiday before Andrew started up his second semester of law school. I should start a blog just on the adventures of being married to a law student. Of course, Andrew could start a blog on what it's like being married to a hermit-like graphic designer. Anyways, Door County, no doubt, is best enjoyed in the summer, not in nine below freezing temperatures and wind. But, to be truthful, we went for the sake of getting away and holing up somewhere, so it was nice not to have an excuse to leave our comfy Bed and Breakfast room! Here is Andrew lounging about in his new wool sweater we found in one of our few trips out of the B&B.

That was one of the excuses we used to leave: shopping! Always a good excuse! That and coffee!

While at the B&B, I finished a book I had started at Christmas time. I laid out all of my papers and buttons in front of our fireplace and set to work! Sorry this photo is a little blurry.

Here is my Keepsake Button book:

Rosebud Journal

Here is a little something I put together over the weekend and just now found the time to post in my shop! My Rosebud journal. I like how fresh and spring-like it looks! Helps on days like this when the sky looks like grey wool.

Door County

I just wanted to write a quick hello to say "Yes, I do realize that it's not longer Christmas, that it is in fact a new year, and I will get on the ball, again!" I'm sorry I've been so neglectful of my blog. Poor blog. I will pay attention to you soon! I promise.

I'm heading to Door County this weekend with Andrew for some quality R&R. Everyone keeps telling me that Door Country is a summer place. Not winter. I do realize this. And I'm going for the simple, though blissful, excuse to stay indoors and do absolutely nothing. How divine!

I'll post pictures when I return!
